Technology mogul Elon Musk has announced that individuals promoting genocide on his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) will face suspension from the site.
This decision by Musk follows criticism from the White House, accusing the owner of Tesla and SpaceX of endorsing “antisemitic and racist hate” on X.
Mr. Musk emphasized that advocating for genocide of any group is grounds for suspension from the platform. He reiterated that calls for extreme violence go against their terms of service and will result in a suspension.
Earlier in the week, Musk appeared to agree with a user who made antisemitic comments, triggering a response from the White House, labeling the posts as “abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hate.”
Spokesperson Andrew Bates emphasized the responsibility of bringing people together against hate and the obligation to speak out against those who compromise the safety and dignity of fellow Americans.
